Walton Rogues Scorers

Upturn of Fortunes

After a couple of disappointing defeats to start the season, Rogues are starting to turn their fortunes around. Their second triangle of fixtures saw narrow defeats to Wallabies and MKX, with the resulting bonus points lifting us away from Roos and their zero points.

Last weekend, Rogues met the physical Oakgrove Teachers side and were unlucky to come away with only a draw. In their second game of the day, however, Rogues got well-earned revenge against MKX, winning 9-8 despite having to provide a referee and loan Adam to the juniors.

There are no SMKA games this weekend, but next weekend gives us another crack at Oakgrove, and also at Colossus (against whom we started the season).

4:22- Colossus score which make their heads lift up higher.

An essential Colossus player is constantly on his feet and changing direction and Jim is struggling to keep up but fortunately his teamwork links with Mark and Cecile brings an advantage to Rogues whilst David makes positive and confident decisions.

Andra makes a superb effort to intercept a high pass but it hits the top of her fingers.

Tracy carries out several clever options for the Rogues which gives them more chances to score.

A five minute half- time break takes place. Both teams look particularly strong including good communication, consisting of loud shouts by Cecile but this is not enough to get ahead of Colossus at the moment. Rogues are 1- 7 down.

4:39- Colossus are chuffed with their goal thanks to a skilful turn made by one of the female players.

Great counter-attack from Walton Rogues which leads to a smooth pass and catch from Emma.

Colossus misses a penalty and the ball is played to the Rogues' attacking half.

4:48- Emma scores a phenomenal long- shot. It seems that the Walton Rogues are progressively reaching near Colossus' amount of points.

The full time whistle is blown and the final score is 3- 10 in favour of Colossus.

Rogues goals were scored by Cecile, Mark and Emma.

Unfortunately they failed to score when they were offered 3 free passes and a penalty.

Walton Rogues played well especially active David but Colossus were an organized and experienced team so Walton Rogues were unable to beat them.
